3 Fundamentals to Building a Retirement Account

In my endeavors to help people buy, sell and finance homes, I see many financial profiles ranging from families that struggle to others that have stability and others that have huge success. One differentiating factor is their commitment, focus and discipline to these three fundamental investment principles.

That statement seems to become mundane sometimes--like saying, “I love you” without thinking.  However, this morning I was very conscious about making it a great day. It got me thinking, "What makes a day great?"

Finally Recovery Time

After working long hours over the last 2-3 months I finally get some Recovery Time. It seems that every moment has been absorbed with helping clients buy, sell and finance homes. So, having a partial day off with no Results time is cherished.

My coach, Joe Stumpf, is the owner of By Referral Only, a company that helps realtors in their business and their lives. Joe breaks time into 3 categories –Results, Remodel and Recovery. Ideally, I’d schedule these times myself, but in the Real Estate and Mortgage Broker business, our times are scheduled by the client’s needs. Virtually all my time is spent in Results time, but for a successful business, it is critical to find time for Remodel and Recovery.

His success is based on his keen insight into the changing dynamics of the impact of social media and his straightforward personality that just says things how they are.

For those who aren't familiar with Gary Vaynerchuk, or Gary V as he is commonly know, he grew his family liquor store to a multimillion dollar online business. His use of video blogging and other social media channels is masterful. His first book, Crush It!, talks about the opportunities today that are so unique in a historic sense because you can take your passion and let others know.

Unlike other times in history, you can reach a large audience in an incredibly quick timeframe. You can feel his passion about wine, about social media, and about life.
